i live in a multilingual household so me and my mom were comparing the pronunciations of "coffee" in every language we know. my dad asked if i still knew how to say coffee in toki pona, and i said yes. my mom was shocked i still remembered it because it's been actual years since i spoke it consistently. i was like "no but it's just a small vocabulary :) and it's easy!" she told me i really did have a special talent with language, because she couldn't pick it up as we studied together, and when i tried to deny it she said "you learned the whole thing in like a day, that's not normal." and i know she meant it in a "that's an extraordinary display of aptitude" but i love the way she worded it. that's not normal, you little language freak. cause it's true, i am a little language freak.
